Orius insidiosus originates from North America and is a standard corrective treatment for Thrips in glasshouse crops. The main target is Western Flower Thrips, Frankliniella occidentalis. It is often released as a follow up treatment after predatory mites such as Amblyseius cucumeris. The bugs are supplied in bottles of 500 ml containing 500 adults and late instar nymphs, in buckwheat husks, with a small amount of food to keep them alive during transport. Oriline is reared under the "ACTIV" system which gives quicker establishment in crops.
