Contains 50 million Steinernema feltiae in 1 tray, or 1.25 billion nematodes in 5 trays, each containing 250 million infective juvenile stages of the entomopathogenic nematode. It is used for the control of Bradysia sp., Sciarid Fly larvae feeding in soil and growing medium, and for control of Western Flower Thrips and Leafminers on ornamental plants.

Benefits of Exhibitline sf
|
The nematodes in the product are known as ‘Infective Juveniles’. These seek out suitable hosts by swimming in the thin film of water on soil particles, locating hosts by detecting carbon dioxide and other waste products. Once they find a host, they enter the body cavity through the mouth, anus or spiracles, and release bacteria (Xenorhabdus). The bacteria kills the host within hours, and the nematodes grow and reproduce within the ‘broth’, which they produce. The next generation of infective juveniles leaves the dead host, and moves in search of fresh hosts. Infected hosts become brown and flaccid, but once dead can be difficult to find in soil. The nematodes are active at temperatures as low as 8°C, but the bacteria that they use to kill their hosts are not, minimum soil temperatures need to be 14°C for the nematodes to work effectively. The bacteria is disabled above 26°C, use in high ambient temperatures can result in failure. The vermiculite formula is designed to avoid residues on leaf and petal surfaces when used for the treatment of Western Flower Thrips.
For Sciarid Flies:
Protected Crops: 0.5 million per square metre
Pot plants: 10 million per 1,000 pots (2 litre size)
For Western Flower Thrip:
1.25 billion per ha as a preventative treatment.
2.5 billion per ha as a curative treatment.
Use at 7-day intervals. Apply in high spray volumes of >1000 l/ha to give uniform coverage. Effectiveness can be improved by adding a wetting agent. Apply in high humidity conditions. For further dosing, mixing and application information, see detailed instructions on the reverse side of this sheet.
Exhibitline sf should be stored in the fridge at 4°C.
Check expiry date on pack. Do not freeze.
Do not put the container in direct sunlight.

Contains 50 million entomopathgenic Steinernema feltiae nematodes in vermiculite in sealed trays for the control of sciarid fly feeding on roots of ornamentals under glass.
Exhibitline sf is a bioinsecticide for the control of Sciarid fly larvae. The active ingredient is the beneficial nematode species Steinernema feltiae. S. feltiae occurs naturally in soils. These nematodes are harmless to the crop, humans, the environment and beneficial insects.
The nematodes move through the water films around soil particles and actively seek out the Sciarid fly larvae. After locating the insect larvae the nematodes invade through natural body openings and eject a pellet of bacteria into the insect. The bacteria develop and the insect dies of septicaemia. Under optimum conditions the insect may die within 12-24 hours. Insect mortality will depend on the environmental temperature.
This product is only active against insect pests. SINCE THESE ARE LIVING ORGANISMS, THEY REQUIRE SPECIAL HANDLING AND APPLICATION PROCEDURES. PLEASE ENSURE YOU FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY TO OBTAIN MAXIMUM ACTIVITY.
The nematode activity is affected by soil temperature. For optimum nematode activity the soil temperature should be between 14ºC and 25ºC. The nematodes will remain active at temperatures below 14ºC, but the associated bacteria will not function until the temperature rises above the 14ºC threshold. Soil temperatures above 30ºC are harmful to S. feltiae.
When Sciarid flies are a problem Exhibitline sf should be applied every six weeks.
For best results, treat entire house or plant inventory as soon as Sciarids are seen. In propagation areas, treat new plants as they are introduced.
The soil must be moist (not water-logged). If required, water the soil before applying the nematodes. Do not soak the soil. The nematodes could be washed out of the pots.
The volume of water for application can be varied provided there is a minimum of 1 litre water per sq.m. and the correct dose rate is applied.
After application the treated area should be lightly irrigated from above. This will wash the nematodes into the soil. After application the soil should be kept moist.
Soil PH must be between 3-8.
Do not apply Exhibitline sf at the same time as nematicides or fertilisers. Avoid use of chemicals for one to two weeks before and after application.
For ornamentals under cover apply a spray to the soil around the plant roots. One pack of 50 million treats up to 100 sqm using 1-2 litres water/sqm. Either:
Mix one pack per 100 litres water and use at 1 l/sqm or
Mix one pack with 200 litres water and use at 2 l/sqm.
Remove all fine filters (less than 1 mm) including those in the nozzles, from the sprayer.
Empty Exhibitline sf packs into a large bucket, add water and mix thoroughly.
Rinse bucket contents into sprayer tank using the standard spray tank sieve.
Agitate contents of spray tank constantly during application. Maintain this until spraying is completed.
Add the required volume of additional water to the sprayer.
Apply Exhibitline sf to the crop at the appropriate rate.
Once nematodes have been mixed with water, use immediately.
Nozzle opening at least 1mm
Remove filters in spray system
Soil temperatures between 14ºC-25ºC
Avoid application at temperatures above 30ºC
Spray onto soil around plant roots
Use a large droplet to provide a coarse spray pattern
Soil should be moist before and after application
Before tank mixing with agrochemicals or fertilisers consult your Syngenta Bioline distributor.
Do not use product if past expiry date or incorrectly stored.
If Sciarids are established it may be between two and three weeks before the number of adults is noticeably reduced.
Upon receipt remove outer packaging.
Store Exhibitline sf in a refrigerator (5°:C)
DO NOT FREEZE
Ensure good air circulation around each pack
Use entire pack contents at one time - do not sub-divide packs as each contains a measured dose of nematodes.
USE BEFORE THE EXPIRY DATE.
