Eretline e logo

Eretmocerus eremicus is a hymenopterous parasite of whitefly larvae attacking them at the 2nd larval stage. It is supplied as 3000 parasitised whitefly scales in bran carrier in a 250 ml plastic bottle, 5000 scales in a blister pack, or 3000 pupae on 60 hanging-cards.

Eretline e

Whitefly parasite

  • Controls both whitefly species: Trialeurodes sp.and Bemisia sp.
  • Robust performance in hot climates
  • High emergence rates
  • Reared on Trialeurodes, no Bemisia risk
  • Additional pest kill from adults feeding
  • Innovative blister pack and card release system
  • Good host-finding behaviour
  • Blister packs for improved emergence and establishment

Instructions for use

Apply at 0.5 – 20 parasites / sqm depending on whitefly occurrence and intensity. Use preventatively at low doses to prevent whitefly establishment. Use a selective insecticide to clean up existing populations.
Blister: Remove the sheet of blister packs from the envelope and separate along the perforations. Open the flap at the back of the blister. Remove the white card disc and hang on the plant in the shade, out of direct sunlight.
Bottle: Immediately before opening, lay the bottle on its side gently rotating it to mix the contents. Open the bottle in the glasshouse in the early morning or evening when light conditions are low. Do not release in sunlight. Sprinkle the product directly onto the leaves in areas where whitefly occurs. Spread evenly in the crop. Use as many release points as possible. Keep bran carrier out of reach of rodents and excessive humidity.

Important information
Eretmocerus populations are half female and half male, unlike Encarsia where all insects are female.
If there is a risk of virus transmission to plants from invading Bemisia adults, it is preferable to use an insecticide. Follow up later with Eretmocerus releases.
Where only Trialeurodes is present, consider using Encarsia rather than Eretmocerus.
